Friends of Warmth (UK)

Friends of WARMTH was formed in 2001 when a couple of the present Trustees were introduced to each other by the then Project Manager. Peter Gilbert had visited the project and was so inspired by it that he and his family helped establish one of the kitchens. When Val Harding left South Africa with her husband to come and live in the UK, she wanted to support the project. Both Peter and Val knew the fundraiser for the project and she introduced them to each other, and the idea for a UK-based charity was born.

5 years later, there are 4 Trustees, a substantial mailing list of supporters in the UK. Friends of WARMTH has also managed to help set up a couple of kitchens, and more importantly provide some of the much needed money to maintain these kitchens year by year.
