Apart from Rosie's kitchen, WARMTH has set up a total of 42 kitchens, most of those in the townships around Cape Town, but 10 additional kitchens have also been set up in one of the poorest areas of the South Africa along the West coast. To see where the kitchens are situated, follow the links on the left hand side of this page.
The WARMTH Project Manager Noluthandu is responsible for visiting the communities in the various townships around Cape Town and identifying with those communities someone who is willing and able to run one of the WARMTH kitchens. They are then provided with training and when ready, WARMTH sets them up with a kitchen. These are either in a second-hand container, especially adapted (click here to see pictures) or a part of the kitchen operator's home is adapted to provide a kitchen and serving hatch. |
